Services
We believe in the importance of an annual physical examination, twice a year if a pet is elderly or has an ongoing illness; pets' shorter lifespans and faster metabolisms mean that one year is equivalent to up to seven for a human. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostics, preventions and treatments to care for your pets' complete health care needs. Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We utilize a laser surgical unit for most procedures, and can perform laser ablation of some types of skin lesions using a sedative and local anesthetic without needing to put cooperative pets under full anesthesia. Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures, including EKG, respiration, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure. Internal medicine consults: We work closely with several area internal medicine specialists who perform ultrasounds and endoscopic procedures and provide diagnostic expertise, similar to how your physician might consult with a human medical specialist. Radiology Services: Our on-site digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
Therapeutic Laser: Our therapy laser helps reduce pain from arthritis, back problems, and other chronic problems, improves circulation, and can speed healing.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists. Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. We utilize a high-speed dental unit to allow for extracting even multi-rooted teeth. Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, electrolytes, urinalysis and parasite testing. We can perform in-house cytology to evaluate masses and diagnose ear and skin infections. We also send samples to veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification to help reunite lost pets with their families. Pharmacy: We maintain an inventory of select pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We can provide written prescriptions for many medications people and pets both use. We utilize the services of compounding pharmacists to create medications specially flavored for pets when needed. We also carry a wide variety of prescription diets. Individualized Flea & Tick Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet, as well as prevent tick bites and test for tick-borne diseases. Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, performance, and senior pet health. Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as thunder or fireworks phobias, separation anxiety, excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression. We can also provide referrals to behavioral specialists for more difficult cases.
Boarding: We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Exotic pets may be boarded with prior arrangement. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. (Side note, pets boarding for only a couple days aren't eligible for grooming services)
